Background
To help realize the government’s ambitions for increased visibility of Norwegian sustainable solutions, a number of agents have joined forces on a project to develop a showroom for products, services, and technology in the ocean industries. The project is part of the Cluster’s work on collaboration for sustainability and innovation.
Project goals
Ocean Innovation Showroom aims to increase exports and business opportunities for Norwegian industries, as well as facilitating delegation visits and thereby contributing to strengthening the role of Norway as a global ocean nation. The centre will be located in Bergen with digital viewing solutions that give companies a tool for showcasing their solutions to agents who are interested in knowledge about the ocean industries.
Progress
The first phase of the project is now completed giving a platform for the next project phase. A market study has been carried out revealing interest in a showroom and laying the foundation for further work. Concept sketches for Ocean Innovation Showroom have been worked out and there has been produced material for visualizing the center in the form of illustrations and a 3D presentation. Different customer groups are explored, and business models are outlined for further verification in the next project phase. Budgets for investment and annual operation are outlined as well as an action plan and budget for the next phase of the project.
